Gaza Relief · Direct Giving

How to donate directly to
a Gaza family that actually
receives the money.

Most "Gaza relief" fundraising feels opaque: donations disappear into general pools, receipts never arrive, and GoFundMe routinely suspends family campaigns. This page explains the alternative — direct giving to one verified family at a time — and how to do it safely.

Currently funding: Islam Abuhamada's family — father, mother, daughter (Eilan) and baby (Muhammad), displaced 4 times, living in a tent in Nuseirat. Read their story →

The problem

Why "Gaza relief" is hard to do right

If you've tried to help a Gaza family recently, you've probably hit some of these walls:

  • GoFundMe suspensions. Many Palestinian family campaigns have been suspended with donations refunded. Islam Abuhamada's original campaign was one of them.
  • Banking collapse. Gaza's banking infrastructure is largely destroyed. Wire transfers, SWIFT, and most international payment rails don't reach families on the ground.
  • Overhead opacity. Large NGOs often take 15-40% for operations. "Gaza relief fund" campaigns rarely disclose what percentage actually reaches a family.
  • Scam fatigue. Even real campaigns face donor scepticism because fraud is common. Trust is hard to rebuild without a verifiable human contact.
  • Fractional funding. Splitting small donations across dozens of half-funded campaigns helps nobody reach their goal. Half-funded is failed.
The alternative

Direct giving, one family at a time

Fund One is a volunteer-run platform that amplifies a single verified family's Chuffed campaign at a time. No pooled funds, no overhead cut, no extra layer between you and the family.

What works
  • Individual verified families — a single person you can email, a story you can verify, a campaign with a public ledger.
  • Chuffed (non-profit fundraiser) — has remained reliable for Palestinian campaigns where GoFundMe hasn't.
  • Direct transfer networks — partners on the ground move funds to families via trusted local channels.
  • Focus until funded — concentrate attention on one family until they reach 100%, then move to the next.
What to avoid
  • Anonymous "Gaza fund" accounts on Twitter/Instagram asking for PayPal. No way to verify.
  • Cryptocurrency campaigns without a named family behind them. High scam ratio.
  • Re-shared GoFundMe links without checking if the campaign is still active or suspended.
  • Large pooled charities where you can't see what percentage of your donation reaches actual families.

The Fund One promise

We never hold your donation. Money goes directly from your card to Chuffed's processing, and from Chuffed to the family's transfer network. Fund One's role is purely to tell the story, verify the family, and amplify the campaign until the goal is met.

Three ways to help

Concrete actions you can take right now

1

Donate to the current family on Chuffed

The fastest, most direct action. Islam Abuhamada's campaign accepts cards, PayPal, and Apple/Google Pay. Chuffed emails you a tax-deductible receipt (where applicable). Every donation is public on their ledger.

2

Share their story

Reach doubles a campaign's chances. Share Islam's story page with a short personal note — on WhatsApp, email, Instagram, or wherever you have influence. One share to 20 friends can mean another $500 raised.

Verify before you donate (or recommend us)

If you're an NGO, a journalist, or simply a sceptical donor, write to Adam Wojcik — he has known Islam personally for almost two years. He can put you in touch with the family directly to verify anything.

Frequently asked

Common questions about donating to Gaza

How do I donate directly to a family in Gaza?

The most transparent way is to donate to a verified individual family campaign hosted by a reputable platform like Chuffed. Fund One currently hosts Islam Abuhamada's campaign — every donation is processed directly by Chuffed and the family's ledger is publicly visible.

Is Fund One a registered charity for Gaza?

Fund One is a volunteer-run platform that amplifies verified individual family campaigns — not a registered 501(c)(3) or international NGO. Donations are processed directly by Chuffed; Fund One never collects or holds donor funds. This is intentional: we do not take a cut, we do not accumulate overhead, and we do not claim tax-deductible status we don't have.

Can I give Zakat to a Gaza family through Fund One?

Yes. 100% of donations go directly to an individual family in acute need, with no overhead deducted — aligning with Zakat distribution principles. Contact Adam Wojcik (wielder5676@proton.me) if you need details on the specific family's situation to satisfy Zakat requirements.

My GoFundMe for a Gaza family was suspended. What can I do?

Many Gaza campaigns on GoFundMe have been suspended with donations refunded — Islam Abuhamada's original campaign was one of them. Chuffed is a non-profit alternative that has remained reliable for Palestinian family campaigns. Fund One amplifies specific Chuffed campaigns for maximum visibility. If you know a verified family whose GoFundMe was suspended, write to us at help@agenciarse.com.

How does money actually reach a family inside Gaza?

With conventional banking infrastructure largely destroyed, families rely on trusted local transfer networks (hawala), verified liquidity pools, and occasional Western Union / MoneyGram transfers where connections permit. Campaigns that reach their goal trigger a coordinated, documented transfer with on-the-ground partners who provide receipts back to the donor platform.

Why focus on one family instead of spreading donations?

Spreading $100 across 100 families means each gets $1 — nobody actually reaches their survival goal. Concentrating $100 from 400 donors on one family's $40k goal means one family actually makes it out. For urgent crisis funding, completion rate matters more than breadth. Fund One then moves to the next family once one is fully funded.

Help one Gaza family, really.

Islam, Houria, Eilan and Muhammad are surviving in a tent. Your $25, $50, or $100 on Chuffed goes straight to them — tracked, verifiable, real.
